Am I in menopause?
For many women, menopause happens around 50 years of age. Menopause marks the end of a woman's reproductive years, and is diagnosed after not receiving a menstrual period for one year. The time leading up to menopause is called perimenopause, which can begin many years before menopause. For most women, the last one to two years of perimenopause is when they experience the most symptoms.
Some very common symptoms of menopause include:
- Emotional Changes
- Headaches
- Hot Flashes
- Increased Vaginal Dryness, Itching, Infections and Pain
- Irregular Periods
- Loss in Sexual Interest
- Sleep Disturbances
Every woman will experience symptoms differently. If you are having any questions, concerns or are experiencing symptoms, we encourage you to call your doctor to make an appointment!
